Tabletop Exercise

Tabletop Exercise

A tabletop exercise is a discussion-based simulation where stakeholders walk through a hypothetical incident scenario and practise decisions without touching live systems. It is used to validate plans, clarify roles and identify gaps. Consensus is that tabletop exercises are a low-risk, high-value way to test resilience and IR plans and should be held at least annually for major scenarios such as ransomware and site loss.
