SLA
A Service Level Agreement is a formal contract that specifies expected levels of service, such as availability, performance and response times, and may include penalties. It can apply to internal teams or external providers. Consensus is that SLAs must be aligned with business needs, technically feasible and backed by monitoring and reporting; they cannot substitute for real resilience measures.
