Recovery Assurance

Recovery assurance is the practice of continuously verifying that backups, replicas and recovery workflows will actually work when needed. It often involves automated test restores, application-level checks and reporting. The consensus is that claimed RTOs and RPOs are meaningless without recovery assurance; regular, automated testing is now considered a core requirement for mature resilience programmes.
