Encryption in Transit
Encryption in transit secures data as it travels across networks between clients, services and storage systems, typically using TLS. It prevents eavesdropping and tampering. Consensus is that all external and most internal communications carrying sensitive data should be encrypted in transit by default, as part of standard hygiene for resilience and regulatory compliance.
