Dark Data

Dark data is information that an organisation collects and stores but does not actively use, analyse or even fully know it has. It often accumulates in logs, file shares, backups and legacy systems. The consensus is that dark data represents both hidden risk and wasted cost; resilience strategies should surface, classify and either govern or defensibly delete it.
