ACID Transactions

ACID stands for Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation and Durability, a set of properties that ensure reliable database transactions. It guarantees that operations either fully succeed or have no effect, maintain valid states, run in isolation and are persisted. Consensus is that ACID remains fundamental for many business-critical systems, even as new data models and eventual consistency patterns gain popularity elsewhere.
